VEDIT Updates for Windows
This page lists the update options for each version of VEDIT. You can download a free update to the last version released during your support period. If your support period is expired, you can purchase an update to the current version and/or the Software Subscription Plan (SSP) on-line.
The current version is: VEDIT 6.15.2 dated 02/12/08.
SSP Members: Software Subscription Plan (SSP) members can download any VEDIT update during the 18-month support period. Go directly to the "Quick Update" page.
Step 1:
Check if a newer version is available.
In VEDIT, select the menu item {HELP, About} to determine what version you have. If it is older than the current version, you may want to update.
VEDITLOG.TXT gives a brief, one-line, listing
of recent enhancements, changes and bug fixes.
WHATSNEW.TXT gives a short description of recent enhancements.
The current version is: VEDIT 6.15.2 dated 02/12/08.
Step 2:
Check that your support period is still active.
In VEDIT, select the menu item {HELP, About} to determine when your support period expires. If your support has expired, you can download any updates you are entitled to from the updates page. If you purchased 6.1, you are eligible to download all 6.1x updates. If you did not purchase 6.1, you will need to purchase the update and Software Subscription Plan on-line.
Step 3:
Download and install the desired file(s).
If you have a fast connection, we suggest downloading the files that include the VEDIT manuals as .PDF files. The .PDF files can be opened from VEDIT's {HELP} menu.
VEDIT 6.1
Support "Expires at end of 03-2003" or later
- You can download the latest version from the "Quick Update" page.
- The most cost effective way to keep current with all updates is by ordering the Software Subscription Plan (SSP).
VEDIT+ 6.0
Support "Expires at end of 12-2002" or earlier
- You can download the final 6.03.4 as a free update. Or:
- You can order the Software Subscription Plan for 18 months of support and updates.
VEDIT+ 5.2
Registered users were emailed a new serial number on Sep. 28, 2001 for a free update to 5.21.1.
- You can download the final 5.21.1 as a free update. Or:
- You can order a single update to version 6.1 for $59. Or:

VEDIT+ 5.1
(This was the first 32-bit Windows version.)
- If you do not have the final 5.16.5 dated 04-April-00, you can download it as a free update. Or:

VEDIT+ 5.0
(This was a 16-bit Windows version.)
- If you do not have the final 5.05 dated 08-June-00, you can download it as a free update. Or:

Ordering Updates and SSP
All updates includes 3 months of support and additional downloaded updates. Currently, all updates to version 6.1 include the upcoming version 6.2 (with ftp support).
The Software Subscription Plan (SSP) includes 18 months of support and updates, including future versions 6.2, 7.0 and 7.1, whichever is longer.
Note: It is better to order/renew the SSP from the Customer Login, which will immediately give you a new permanent serial number.
However, if you do not have your old serial number and/or customer number, you can order from this page. Upon completing the order, you will receive a temporary serial number which will let you download and run the software as the full product. You will receive the permanent serial number within a few business days.
